Im Pro Bonnet life but he may not be

I dont know about you but when I enter my home the bonnet goes on no questions asked. It’s a really simple but affective practice. By wearing a bonnet in the house I have really been able to perserve my curls. I thought it was all good in the hood. But now, I’m starting to think that maybe it’s not all good in the hood for bae.

I mean it might have something to do with the fact that hours after I have woken up I still have it on. I mean I do draw the line at walking around outside with it on. But it seems  he might think its a bit excessive.

Okay, so here’s why I’m starting to think  he might not be so pro bonnet life. First of all he has started to refer to it as a hat. Just the other day he looked me in the eye leaned in close and  with his serious face and in his super adult voice and says ” so when are you going to take that hat off your head!”  I know right! Cue the gasp and clutching of pearls.

I mean lately he has serious aggression against the bonnet!  He has gone as far as reaching over and snatching it off while saying “TAKE THIS OFF!” Now it might have been after an entire day but so what the man is getting bold.

He keeps saying you gotta let your hair breath sometime. Although I am pro bonnet life he’s right. Giving your hair some air wont hurt anybody. I’m not saying I will be taking a nap or lay down without a bonnet, but just going about daily life indoors without a bonnet might not be so scary. As a recovering(really but not really the bonnet is a barrier)chronic hands in hair syndrome natural I have to start somewhere.

Don’t worry  guys no Naturals were harmed in the making or before this post. It was  all in good fun. It’s actually a blessing to have someone who wants to look at your hair and touch it so bad that they will be willing to forgo the natural hair code and reach their hand for your bonnet. He really does mean well. Let me know in the comments if you’re as pro  bonnet life as I am. Remember, be happy, be curly, be you, and you will never fail!
