Put a Rush on it

Hey, Afro frenzies welcome back! Ideally we would all love for our wash days to go over like a dream. The reality of it is that it doesn’t always. Sometimes you don’t have time for perfection but, it doesn’t mean you should give up.

Just last weekend me and my guy were in a wedding. The ceremony went beautifully. It was a joyous occasion with great food and happy people.

But I have a secret something no one knows except for the people who helped me get ready. My flexi rod set was not dry. I mean like really damp😫.

let me paint you a picture. I mean it was the morning of and bae’s hair wasn’t retwisted. Girlfriend my hair well, my hair wasn’t even started. I had a few hours to make it all happen.

You know what they say fake it until you make it! And we faked the funk hard. The pieces that were the most defined were the curls in the front so we left those curls out twisted the back up and put a beautiful pin it.

As for baes hair he looked amazing too. But what you couldn’t tell is that the last few back rows weren’t done. The key to faking a great retwist is to cover what isn’t retwisted.

I don’t recommend waiting long to retwist the rest of your locks. But in a pinch do you boo boo 👏🏾. I don’t always agree with the motto “what they don’t know wont hurt them” but in this case whole heartedly.

Go to the interview, family fish fry, wedding, or what have you. Walk in with all the confidence in the world, because guess what nobody knows your secret.

I use to let my hair dictate my day. If my twist out wasn’t dry I was pissed. I mean I would stress like nobodies business. If this would have happened a few years ago I would have flipped.

What I have learned is that part of the adventure is making it work (even when it seems it won’t). Remember, be happy, be curly, be you, and you will never fail!
