Tips for the preggers

Hey guys so a lot has happened lately. The biggest is that ya girl had a baby. I had a hard time before and after and writing was not my priority my health was and is.

But let’s get to business! When your about to get really busy especially child birth(which is a big deal) your hair shouldn’t be a worry. Here’s what I did.

First of all I think it’s important to know when you need a break. It took me leaving my hair in a bun for  a week for me to realize I might need help.

I think the biggest thing is identifying what you can handle and what you can’t handle. Accepting when you need help. I’ll say that again when you need help! It’s okay to not be okay.

And it’s okay to not be at 💯 . Look your not always going to be able to give it your all. You are going to have challenges and guess what it’s okay to say look I need help! Help me!

So here’s is my only tip, get ya hair done girl. Recognize the signs! When it’s late in your pregnancy get your hair done. I mean done protective style! Like braids twists something that requires no maintenance but a scarf at night (maybe if you ain’t too tired) because trust me some days you will be just too darn tired.

I was thankful to have an awesome caring cousin. Who came like the next day after I asked ( Thank you girl shout out to you. You the real MVP. Vone, ✊🏾Love you girl!) She came through!

Now you may not have a patient understanding cousin who has time to stop their busy schedule to braid your hair, but guess what get somebody you trust.

Get someone who is patient, because guess what as a pregnant women in her last few months, you gonna need a lot. I’m talking needing to pee and pee again. Reposition, eat and drink about idk🤷🏾‍♀️ a gallon of water stretch it’s a lot.

Give yourself some grace and at the very least for-warn whoever will be doing your hair. Tell them that you are expecting. Let them know everything! Don’t tell them your medical history but let them know what you’ll require during your hair session.

I personally took a break for pizza. I snacked on frozen grapes. I took pee breaks, drank water, and tea, had pop tarts watched movies, and repositioned a bunch of times. It was truly and act of love on her part. I’m thankful! But really girl see if you can get a house call and free up a day to do all that you need.

I’m not big on weave. I haven’t worn any since high school but guess what you need what you need! I thank God My hair was not something I was juggling when I was keeping up with doctor visits and the biggest life change a women can go through!

Do yourself a favor and take your hair out of the equation. You don’t have to but I don’t think it would hurt. Remember, be happy, be curly, be you, and you will never fail!
