Homemade whipped Shea Butter Okay!

Hey guys. I hope that you had an amazing hair week. I for one have enjoyed my hair week. One of the reasons I have  thoroughly enjoyed my hair week is all do to my homemade whipped shea butter. As you all know I have tried my hand at homemade curly creams and found success. This time I wanted to make something I could use on wash day and as a daily moisturizer. My ingredients simply consisted of things I had around the house.

I used shea butter, cocoa butter, and coconut oil. A very simple mix of some of my favorite moisturizers. I ended up using a few spoonfuls of shea butter and matched it with the same amount of coconut oil along with  3/4 of a cocoa butter stick.

Here is how I made the  magic happened. First thing first I melted down the shea butter and the cocoa butter in a pot on low ( being as though I don’t have a double boiler).

By melting the butters together I was able to bring the butters to the same consistency as the coconut oil which I mixed in after the butters where in liquid form.

After I mixed all the ingredients together I put the mixture in the fridge. The thing with making whipped butters is it’s all a matter of preference. I don’t like to leave my whipped shea butter in the fridge too long because I like a soft finish.

After about a half hour or so I took my mixture out of the fridge. I stirred the mixture once more to ensure the consistency was to my liking and voila I had my homemade whipped shea butter. It was  complete to my liking and then some.

After cleansing my hair earlier this week the whipped Shea butter acted as the foundation for my wash and go. I layered it under my olive oil eco styler gel  and a low-key side note the olive oil eco styler  actually came through for ya girl.

With the air being cold and dry its important to keep your hair quenched. What can I say  there aint nothing like a good old whipped shea butter to keep dry hair at bay.

Let me know how you guys are nourishing your curls this winter. I would love to hear about your homemade whipped shea butter adventures in the comments below.

I will be keeping you guys posted on my whipped shea butter adventures. Stay tuned for more about the new recipes I will be trying.Remember, be happy, be curly, be you, and you will never fail!
